Sophia Greiff

Sophia Greiff is an author and curator for photography. Since 2016 she is graduate research assistant in the programme for Photojournalism and Documentary Photography at Hanover University of Applied Sciences and Arts and writing her PhD on alternative storytelling in contemporary photojournalism. Between 2011 and 2016 she co-organized the Fotodoks Festival for Contemporary Documentary Photography in Munich – a festival that aims at highlighting auteur photography in a changing partner country, enhancing dialogue between photographers worldwide and discussing the future of documentary photography. From 2011 until 2013 she was a scholar of the program ‘Museum Curators for Photography’ by the Alfried Krupp von Bohlen und Halbach Foundation and has been working at Münchner Stadtmuseum, Museum Folkwang Essen, Staatliche Kunstsammlungen Dresden and the Victoria & Albert Museum in London.
